Yes "Simi Automatic" is alowed during play. Actualy it is the most common. You have Pump wich requires you to pump the marker each shot. You have Simi Auto wich the marker will recoil and can shoot agien, You have Auto wich will fire repeatedly untill you relace the trigger.
They also have Air Assisted Fireing (Responce Triggers) wich are Simi Auto becuse they are still moving you finger with a cylinder that is ushaly powered by the markers air system.
Along with Electronic Guns you can have: "Electo Pumatic" (Ions, Timmies, Angles, ect) wich use a air threw silinoid wich is tripped by the electronics and micro swich. Then you have "Sear Trippers" wich you see in electronic Tippmans and spyders today wich just use an electronic silinoid to trip the sear wich the silinoid is conected to the electronic system of the marker.
You will also see RAMPING... today ramping is very common however now alowed on some fields. RAMPING is basicaly the computer takeing over after you reach ex. 3 trigger pulls in less than 1.5 sec the marker shoots auto untill you slow down below 5 ball per sec pulling or you stop pulling all together.
Summery: Autos are not alowed on most fields becuse of insurance reasons most simi autos are alowed as long as they are under 15 balls per second and ramping is somtimes alowed depending on field and what nots....
